    Decorative applications

The explosion of colors produced by kilims makes them a sometimes striking and versatile element in all kinds of decorative spaces. In ancient times, kilims were very functional; they were used in the Middle East and especially in Asia. People prayed on them, they were easy to roll up, and they were easy to transport because they are very lightweight.

In Western decoration, its uses are more varied:

    - Decoration in living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, etc.

    - Ideal for long hallways or entryways.

    - Hung on the wall, like a tapestry.

    - As bedroom headboards, they create a feeling of warmth and vibrant colors.

    - They adorn the floors of businesses or shops, providing warmth and tranquility.

    About kilims

The kilim is a flat-pile textile, very characteristic of Turkey and other Middle Eastern countries. The term kilim literally means "does not mix colors." It is said to be the oldest rug in the world. A kilim differs from a carpet in its weaving technique, as the artisan creates the kilim by interlacing the wool fibers, forming mosaics or geometric patterns so characteristic of this style.

The finishes of Kilims are very uniform due to the intricate weave of the wool fabrics. The patterns formed in these types of rugs are generally geometric, as this facilitates the artisan's manual work with the slit-weaving technique, which is used in kilims and makes them so unique.

Durable and resistant, they are designed to be stepped on and walked on frequently.

    Made in Türkiye.

    Washing and maintenance

It's best to clean it with cold water and natural soap if necessary. Although it can be tumble dried on low heat, it's better to dry it in the shade, outdoors, as direct sunlight can fade the rug's color.

If there is dirt or residue from solid products on the kilim, you can brush both sides of the rug with a soft brush, then rinse with cold water.
